Every agent in Rex, one click from its pane.

Perch keeps every coding agent session on your Mac in the menu bar. In Rex, Superlogical’s terminal, a click lands in the agent’s pane, and your iPhone can type into it.

How the jump works

Rex's server knows which pane runs which agent

Found from the process tree

Every agent in Rex runs under Rex's server. Perch follows the agent's process up to it and asks the server which pane holds that process, so the jump works for every agent Perch watches, with no hook needed.

The pane, and the session too

A click brings Rex forward and focuses the agent's pane. To have Rex switch to that session as well, turn on Remote Control in Rex's Settings, under Rex Server.

Only Rex's own binary is run

Perch talks to the server through the same rex program the server runs, and checks that program is signed by Superlogical before running it.

Answering

Answering an agent that runs in Rex

Type a reply from your iPhone

With Perch Pro, your message goes into the agent's own pane through Rex's server, even when another pane or session is in front, and your Mac can stay locked. No tmux or herdr in between.

Stop a turn from your iPhone

For Claude Code, Codex, Antigravity and Droid. Each was measured in Rex: one stop ended the turn mid-answer and left the agent running, ready for the next message.

Approvals don't care which terminal

Allow and Deny on your iPhone, Apple Watch and Mac notification work the same in Rex as anywhere else, for Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode and Devin, with the one-time licence alone.

How approving from your iPhone works, and every alert Perch can send you.

Worth knowing

The conditions, named

No reply or Stop while a prompt is up

When the agent shows an approval or a question, answer that first, with Allow or Deny or at the Mac. A message or a Stop then would answer the prompt for you, so Perch holds both until it's gone.

No Reply field on Mac notifications yet

Replies from the Mac notification aren't offered for sessions in Rex yet. Answer from your iPhone, or in Rex itself.

Something else in front waits its turn

If another program is running in the agent's pane in front of it, Perch holds replies and Stop until it's done. A message never goes to whatever happens to be on screen.

A session resumed in Rex follows Rex

A session started in another terminal and resumed in Rex opens in Rex when you click it, not in the terminal it started in.

  • A Mac app licence included, for as long as you subscribe — nothing separate to buy
  • Read your agents’ conversations from your iPhone, and reply straight back into the session

Free to download. Pro is an in-app purchase.

* What Pro can reach depends on the agent and on where its session is running. Replying needs the session inside tmux, herdr or Rex (Droid, tmux or Rex) — Codex in its default mode and OpenCode use their own local servers instead — and it has to be switched on in Settings, because paying for Pro is not the same as consenting to remote input. Reading a conversation works wherever the session runs. Each agent’s own page says exactly what it supports, and what it doesn’t.

Questions

Rex and Perch, specifically

Does Perch work with Rex?
Yes, since Perch 0.5.128. Every agent session running in Rex shows in Perch's menu bar, a click focuses its exact pane, and with Perch Pro you can type into it and stop a turn from your iPhone.
Do I need tmux in Rex to reply from my phone?
No. Rex has its own server, and Perch sends your message through it, into the agent's own pane. That's the difference from Warp, iTerm2, Ghostty or Terminal, where replies from the phone need the agent running inside tmux or herdr.
Why doesn't Rex switch to the session when I click it?
Rex only lets another app switch sessions when Remote Control is on. Turn it on in Rex's Settings, under Rex Server. Without it, Perch still brings Rex forward and focuses the agent's pane.
Which agents can I stop from my phone in Rex?
Claude Code, Codex, Antigravity and Droid, each measured in Rex before it was offered. Stop is never sent while the agent shows an approval or a question, because there the same key would mean Deny.

Perch lands precisely in Warp, iTerm2, Ghostty, Terminal.app and Codex Desktop too, and inside tmux, herdr and Zellij. Every terminal Perch supports.
