What to include

You don’t need to fill in a form, but these four things turn a report into a fix rather than a conversation:

  • Your Perch version, and your macOS version.
  • Which agent it involves — Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Devin, OpenCode, Amp, Antigravity, Droid or Muse Code.
  • What you expected, and what happened instead.
  • If it involves the phone or watch: whether you were on your local network or Tailscale at the time.

Please don’t paste anything you wouldn’t want public into a GitHub issue — use email for that. Security vulnerabilities have their own private channel; please report those privately rather than opening an issue.

Things people ask most

Where do I get the iPhone app?

On the App Store — Perch – Agent Monitor, free to download. Pair it with your Mac and it mirrors the whole fleet. Your licence lives on the Mac, so there is nothing extra to buy for the phone, and the Apple Watch app ships inside the same download. It needs iOS 18 or later.

If you bought before 27 August you may still be waiting on a TestFlight invite. Don’t — that route is retired. Install the App Store version instead and pair it as above; your existing licence covers it, and nothing needs to be re-purchased.

My iPhone can’t reach my Mac.

Perch Companion says why, with the fix beside it. Local Network access is off: tap the Settings button and turn it on. Your Mac’s pairing changed: tap Rescan and scan the new code in Perch’s Settings → Companion. No Mac running Perch was found on this Wi-Fi: check that Perch is open on the Mac and both are on the same network, or run Tailscale on both to connect from anywhere.

Still stuck? Settings → Connection → Connection check in Perch Companion walks through each step of reaching your Mac, from the network to the pairing key, and marks the one that failed. Copy diagnostics gives you the steps, error codes and versions, never your pairing key, your Mac’s name or address, or project names, so it’s safe to paste into an issue.

My sessions all say “Idle” after updating.

For OpenCode and Devin, this is expected once and is not a fault. Both load their integration when a session starts, so a session that was already open when Perch updated is running without it. Start a new session and it reports immediately. If a brand-new session still sits at Idle, that is worth a report.

Perch says my agent’s service is down.

Perch reads the official status pages of Claude Code, Codex, Amp, Devin (Windsurf’s page) and Droid. A red banner in the dropdown means the vendor itself reports the part your agent uses as down, and it links to their incident, so there’s nothing to fix on your Mac; a small icon beside an agent’s usage is lesser trouble, like a slowdown or maintenance. Every open problem is listed in Settings → General → Integrations. An error with no banner? The guides for Claude Code, Codex, Amp, Devin and Droid sort each one into theirs and yours. To stop the checks, run defaults write com.inkryptislabs.perch perch.providerStatus -bool false.

Perch says my agent CLI has an update.

Perch compares the version of Claude Code, Codex, Amp, Droid or OpenCode on your Mac with the latest on the channel you installed it from, and a dot on the gear in the dropdown means one is behind. Settings → General → Integrations shows both versions and the command to update there, such as brew upgrade opencode. Perch never installs anything itself, so the update is yours to run. A tool that updates itself is flagged only once a release has been out for a day, which gives it time to update on its own first. To stop the checks, run defaults write com.inkryptislabs.perch perch.agentUpdateCheck -bool false.

I’m not getting notifications.

Check macOS first: System Settings → Notifications → Perch should allow notifications, and a Focus mode may be holding them back. Then check the alert you expect is switched on in Perch’s Settings → Notifications. A session that was already running when Perch installed its hooks shows “Restart to enable live updates” on its row; start it again and it reports. The notifications troubleshooting guide covers the rest, including Claude Code’s own alerts in each terminal.

Why can’t I approve from my phone for every agent?

Because not every agent tells anyone it is asking. Approvals from your phone or watch work for Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode and Devin, for Droid in tmux, and for Muse Code in its Ask me mode. Cursor has no event meaning “I am asking a human”, so there is nothing for Perch to forward. Amp and Antigravity are seen waiting, and the alert reaches you, but the answer is not brokered back yet. The per-agent pages say exactly what each one does and doesn’t do.

How do I move my license to a new Mac?

Deactivate in the app on the old machine and the seat frees up instantly, then activate on the new one. One key runs one Mac at a time, keys never expire, and updates are included. If you no longer have the old machine, email us and we’ll release the seat.

Team seats

You pick the seat count at checkout and your own seat is claimed automatically. Invite the rest by email from your Polar customer portal, under Orders → your order → Seat Management. Invites expire after 24 hours but can be resent, and a seat can be revoked and reassigned at any time.

Refunds

Perch is a one-time $29 purchase rather than a subscription. If it doesn’t fit your workflow, email us and we’ll refund it — we would rather do that than have it sitting unused in your menu bar.
